We are proud to announce that we will be showing the film Courageous on January 22 at 5 PM. The movie will be seen in the Sanctuary and is open to all ages free of charge. Please invite family and friends to come see this important movie about the courage of being a faithful father and husband.

My sons and I have seen the movie and it will challenge you, entertain you and hopefully make you think. We laughed harder at this movie than we have in a long time. I hope you plan to come and be sure to bring your friends.

Here’s what’s happening at High Peak Baptist Church!

Thanksgiving Service at Amherst Baptist Church

7:00 pm @ Amherst Baptist Church

Our annual community Thanksgiving worship service will be held at Amherst Baptist Church with Pleasant View Baptist Church also taking part with us. Our three choirs will sing together and we will collect non-perishable food items for the food ministry that Amherst supports, which also happens to be the Pleasant View ministry. I will be preaching the message this week from Psalm 95.

No Regular Wednesday Worship or Activities

Regular Wednesday activities are cancelled because of the Thanksgiving service and the holiday the next day. The youth will be going to work at Samaritan’s Purse and some of the children and younger youth will work at the Outreach Center on Tuesday.

Missions Study

5:00 pm @ High Peak

The International Missions Study will be focusing on London, England. We will start at 5:00 pm and go till 7:00 with a meal midway through at 6:45 for everyone. We have a children’s class, a youth class, and an adults class.

FOOTSTEPS: A Special Time for Kids 2-5 on Wednesdays at High Peak!! This will start this week for all pre-school children at our church. If you have a child or grand child in this group you will want to have him or her present. Just “follow the footsteps to the class downstairs” and let your child learn about God’s love and who Jesus is and what he has done for them.

The time will include:

• Bible Lessons
• Crafts
• Fun
• Prayer
• Games
• Snacks

Don’t let your child miss this time. And parents, stay for the adult Bible studying the fellowship hall.

On November 6 at 5 PM our church is hosting KidzRock. I wanted to give you an idea of what it is like so here is a video I shot at the last KidzRock at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in August.

This video features two of our kids who got to participate in the game they played that night. Be sure to plan to be there Nov. 6 at 5.

Here is the July Youth Calendar. It is in PDF (click to download reader) format so you can download it and print it to post on the fridge or somewhere else at home. Also write these on your calendar. If you don’t have a youth to participate, invite a friend, family member or neighbor to bring their kids. And please pray for them, especially the Summer Missions Project with the Good Samaritan Clinic.

Here is the streaming video of the Children’s Christmas Program. They did some music at the very beginning and then after congregational carols were sung they did their play – a very cute story about the animal’s view of the birth of Jesus.  After the video are some announcements about upcoming Christmas celebrations at High Peak.

This Sunday

This Sunday morning will be the next message in our 12 Ways of Christmas, based on David Jeremiah’s book.  Then in the evening, the adult choir will present the Christmas Cantata – a moving message of hope for hurting people at Christmas time with some beautiful music including solos by Harrison Abernathy, Cierra Stamey and Jimmy Stamey. Drama videos are from MERGE – our drama Team. We hope you can come. There will be a preview of the Cantata in the morning service.

Christmas Eve

At 6:00 pm there will be a candlelight communion worship service. Come and bring your family for a meaningful time of worship and renewal.
