Christmas Celebration at High Peak

Welcome to December and the Christmas season. It seems like it’s taken forever to get here this year with all that we’ve dealt with in 2020. That’s why I think this Christmas has a chance to be so special. It’s time to put our focus on Christ in Christmas, a term that means worship of Christ. How will we worship Christ in our Christmas celebration this December in 2020?

Winter Bible School for Grade School Children

Winter Bible School: Knights of the North Castle

We hate that we’ve not had a lot for our children during most of 2020, but we do now. Starting this past Sunday (12-6-20) we held the first of 10 weeks of Winter Bible School. The team of volunteers led by Britt Abernathy taught our children in grade school age focusing on a fun theme called Knights of the North Castle.

Here’s a copy of the description of Knights of the North Castle for families…

At Knights of North Castle VBS, your students will enjoy an interactive, energizing, Bible-based good time as they go on a quest in search of the King’s Armor. They will become Knights and discover how to serve God and God’s mission for their lives.

After a high-energy opening assembly time, the Knights make their way to the Bible Story Station. Interactive Bible lessons reveal Castle Callouts to equip your Knights for an active life with God. Your Knights will discover a Banner Verse (Bible memory verse) that will remain with
them in their faith long after VBS.

The students will expand on what they’ve discovered by participating in a variety of activities: making their own art projects at the Craft Station, singing new songs at the Music Station, exploring wonders at the Science Station, playing games at the Recreation Station, and enjoying tasty treats at the Snack Station. Along the way, the Knights will hear about our mission project and as they respond to a call for action!

That sounds like fun!! Join us during worship and bring your children so they can enjoy Knights of the North Castle during December and January.

Christmas Celebration Worship Service

The Sunday before Christmas, December 20, we will enjoy a brief Christmas program by our children and some extra music with solos by a few of our fine musicians on that Sunday.

You can enjoy the music and remember that Jesus is the true focus on Christmas. We hope this celebration worship service at 11:00 a.m. will inspire you and delight you as you consider God’s grace.

Christmas Candlelight Communion Service and Treats

Sunday Night December 20 we will enjoy our annual Christmas Candlelight Communion service. The lights will be off except on the tree and the communion table. We’ll carefully share communion one family at a time. Each family can take their own communion and then light their candle. We will have a wonderful solo by a guest musician, Jaymi Uptagrapht. Our pastor will bring the final message of our 3 part series about the Symbols of Christmas.

After the service everyone will go home with a Christmas Poke, a bag of treats as a gift from our church. Please join us.
