God is in Complete Control Whether We See It or Not

sermons at high peak

As you look at our world, do you ever wonder, “How can anyone think God is in complete control?” It looks like no one is in control. We’re experiencing a world out of control like a car pile up.

We learn from God’s word that the pandemonium is an illusion designed by the Father of Lies to discourage us from trusting our sovereign King of kings and Lord of lords who is in complete control.

Daniel Sermon Series

A few weeks ago we started studying the book of Daniel, which offers a encouragement to believers today. Daniel and his three Hebrew friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego found themselves in a foreign land separated from the culture of Israel, where their people believed the one true God, Yahweh, resided with them in a temple constructed in his honor and for their benefit. For centuries no one could defeat them or destroy that temple. Then Babylon did.

Was their God too week or did he exist at all. Today believers feel that way when things don’t always go as planned. That’s why I chose to start preaching through the book of Daniel. God wants us to know that he may allow some suffering to affect his people for a time, that is used to serve a higher purpose. Suffering has a few effects on believers…

  • Teaches us to rely on God’s sovereign power
  • Punishes us for our sin with a goal of pulling us back to God in repentance
  • Shows the world the glory of God in the midst of suffering which he overcomes in our lives
  • Weeds out the fake believers from our midst

If you want to learn more about how God works in our lives to remind us of his sovereign power, please join us on Sundays as we go through the book of Daniel. Also, if you missed the first three to four sermons, head over to our Facebook page or our subscribe to our Sermons at High Peak Podcast.
