Prayer for New Leaders and More

pray for new leaders

Last Sunday our new church leaders took office for the 2018-19 church year that goes from September through August, after the school year. That means that a number of new people stepped into volunteer positions at High Peak Baptist Church.

So, please keep these new leaders in your prayers as they take on new roles. Especially remember our deacons. Gary Poteet and Josh Poteat are the two new deacons. We also welcome to the Sunday school teaching ranks a few new teachers and assistant teachers. I won’t name these, but please pray for them and join a class at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday morning. Please pray for your kids as they enjoy Sunday school, Sunday night discipleship training and Wednesday night kids groups. We have classes for all ages. Bring your kids and stay yourself.

Coming Soon at High Peak

Fruit Feasts on Sunday Nights – Each Sunday night in September and October we’ll emphasize the Fruit of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22-23. We’ll also have our Sunday night coffee-house or snacks. That starts at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. If you want to sing up to bring snacks on Sundays, let Barb Purcell know.

Homecoming – We celebrate another year of ministry at High Peak on the first Sunday in October with Homecoming. Think of it as the birthday of our church. We’ll enjoy a concert from The Brown Family and then a great Sunday family feast. Bring food and yourself for some good fellowship.
