Here’s what you missed if you didn’t make it to worship with High Peak Baptist Church on Sunday, December 8, 2013. The weather threatened the day, but thankfully the ice held off and we worshipped and fellowshipped together.
1st Lottie Moon Offering Aisle March
The first of two aisle marches for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering took place during High Peak Baptist Church’s worship service on December 8th. Dr. Kevin Purcell emphasized the importance of this offering during the sermon, preaching out of Deuteronomy 6:4-5 and Matthew 22:37, describing to love God with our Heart, Hands, and Voice. The second aisle march will take place during the December 22nd morning service.
Christmas Fellowship Supper
We enjoyed our annual Christmas Fellowship Supper with a full dining room of church family, visitors and friends. We gathered around the table, enjoyed some tasty ham and sides. The desert tablet filled up quickly and then emptied almost as a fast. Santa came and ate with the kids and then passed out treats to the children as they came to sit on his lap.
Upcoming Christmas events
Next Sunday, the Children’s Christmas play (11 AM) and the Adult’s Christmas Cantata (5 PM) will take place with the annual tradition of Christmas distributing treat bags after the Cantata service.
Other upcoming events include a bible study on A Charlie Brown Christmas on Wednesday December 18 and the Candlelight Communion Service on Sunday night December 22.
We look forward to seeing you this Sunday. Don’t miss out on what the Lord’s doing at High Peak this holiday season.
