When News Networks Go Home Baptist Will Remain in NE

When all the news cameras go home, we will be there. Did you know that Southern Baptist Disaster relief is still helping in the Gulf Coast to ensure people get their lives back in order after Hurricane Katrina. The same will take place in New England, New York and New Jersey. We go in first and often leave last.

Our state convention and local association has a mission partnership with Metro New York Baptist Association, so this hits home for us and opens doors of opportunity. If you want to go help in NY, please contact me. We can set up a team now to go when the initial wave is over.

Our church gives 13% of its weekly offering to the Cooperative Program. Through NAMB and Baptist Men, a portion of this pays for Baptist Disaster Relief. But they need more help. Go to their website where you can give. One hundred percent of the money you give will support hurricane victims. How can they do that? Because our weekly giving supports the administrative costs, which are the lowest of any charity around.

I gave $20 today and will give more. I hope you will all follow my example, not because I want praise, but because they need our help.
